The short version. Rewordly has no account system and no server of its own. Your replacement rules and settings are stored on your own device. Page content is never collected, stored or transmitted. The only time the extension contacts the internet is to check a Pro licence key with Gumroad.
Who this covers
This policy applies to the Rewordly browser extension and to the website at rewordly.radrebeldeveloper.com. Rewordly is made and operated by RadRebelDeveloper. If anything here is unclear, email contact@radrebeldeveloper.com.
What the extension does
Rewordly replaces words on web pages you visit with replacements you have written. All of that work happens locally, inside your browser, on content your browser has already downloaded. The websites you visit are not modified for anyone else and are not notified.
Information stored on your device
Rewordly stores the following using your browser's extension storage:
- Your replacement rules - the words you have chosen to find and replace
- Your modes, and which of them are switched on
- Your settings, including any sites you have paused
- Your Pro licence key, if you have bought one
This data stays on your device. It is not uploaded, backed up to us, or synchronised through any service we operate. Uninstalling the extension removes it.
Information we collect
None. Rewordly has no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no cookies. We do not know who installs the extension, which sites you visit, or what your rules say.
Page content
To replace text, the extension must read the text of the pages you open. That reading happens entirely in your browser's memory, for as long as it takes to perform the replacement. Page content is never written to storage, never sent anywhere, and never seen by us or anyone else.
Licence verification
If you buy Rewordly Pro, the extension verifies your licence key with Gumroad, who handle purchasing. This happens when you activate the key and then at most once every 30 days.
The request sends only:
- Your licence key
- An identifier for the Rewordly product
As with any internet request, Gumroad also receives your IP address and the network metadata your browser sends. That request is governed by Gumroad's privacy policy. We receive nothing from it beyond whether the key is valid.
This is the only network request the extension makes. If you never buy Pro, it never makes one.
Purchases
Payments are processed by Gumroad. We never see or handle your card details. Gumroad provides us with the order information needed to support you, such as your email address and what you bought. Their privacy policy governs that data.
Permissions, and why they exist
- Access to websites you visit. Required because you decide which sites your rules apply to, so the extension cannot know in advance which sites it will need. You can limit any mode to specific sites, or pause the extension entirely, from the popup.
- Storage. Keeps your rules and settings on your device between sessions.
- Alarms. Schedules the occasional licence check described above.
This website
rewordly.radrebeldeveloper.com is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and browser user agents, for security and reliability. Following a link to Gumroad takes you to a site with its own policy.
Children
Rewordly is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since we collect no personal information from anyone, this is unlikely to arise.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export or delete on request. Everything the extension stores is under your control and can be removed by clearing the extension's data or uninstalling it. For purchase records, contact Gumroad or email us and we will help.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what the extension does with your information, the date at the top will change and the update will be noted in the extension's release notes.
